Becoming a W3Schooler is Free. Follow the steps below to create and verify your account.
1. Access the Sign Up Page and Choose Your Log In Method
- Go to the Sign Up page.
- You can create a new account using social login features for an easy one-step solution, which allows you to skip this entire guide. However, please note that social accounts currently have some limitations, such as not being able to change your email address or unlink the social account.
- Or use an email and password combination, which is our recommended method.
Tip: Use your personal email address instead of your work email, as your employer may have strict security settings, such as mail rules or firewalls, that could block certain functionalities, including external links needed for email verification.
2. Fill Out Your Information
- Our login email is case-sensitive, so we recommend entering your email in all lowercase letters to avoid any issues with remembering the exact combination you provided.
- Create a password that is at least eight characters long, including a lowercase letter (a-z), an uppercase letter (A-Z), a number (0-9), and a special character (such as
!
,@
,#
,$
). - Provide your real name because your achieved certifications will use the name as you provide it.
- We recommend keeping the checkbox for news and updates enabled so you can receive flash deals on our products.
- Once you've filled out the form, click the "Sign Up" button.
Tip: After clicking the "Sign Up" button, do not close the current tab. If you need to resend the verification email, you can use the "Resend Link" button available on that page.
3. Verify Your Email
- Check your inbox for a verification email with the subject "Welcome to W3Schools - please verify your email" sent from login at w3schools dot com.
- Click the "Verify email" button in the email. If clicking the button doesn’t work, right-click it, copy the link, and paste it into your browser to visit the verification page.
Note: The verification link is valid for 24 hours. If you miss this window, attempt to log in, and you will be prompted to resend the verification email.
Tip: If you need to resend the verification email, click the "Resend Link" button in the tab you left open. If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder. If you used your work or school email and still do not receive the email, you may need to contact your local IT team for assistance.
4. Initial Login and Subscription Plan Selection
- Once you successfully verify your email, click the "Return to login" button.
- Log in using the credentials you just created, and then choose the plan that fits your needs. For an ad-free experience, we recommend our Plus subscription.
Tip: You can choose the yearly plan by toggling the switch to the right. The yearly plan provides better value for money compared to the monthly plan.
Final Steps
At this point, your account is successfully created, verified, and the initial setup is complete. You should land on our Pathfinder dashboard, providing you with the tools you need to become certified.
