How do I set up a server?

If you have been invited or have purchased a server from Campus, our official store, you will receive a token. This guide will help you claim the token and set up your new server space.

Important: A purchase made on our store won't automatically create a W3Schools account. If you already have one but forgot the login credentials, you can request a password reset. However, if you used a social login during account creation, please continue with that method. Remember that the credentials are case-sensitive, including the login (email) field.

1. Verify Your Account Before Claiming the Token

  • Ensure you are logged into the correct W3Schools Account where you intend to claim the token.

2. Claim the Token

  • Click the token link you received or copy and paste it into your browser's address bar. The typical link format is: https://my-learning.w3schools.com/get-access/yourUniqueToken.
  • Confirm by clicking the "Claim access" button.

3. Navigate to Spaces

  • Click the "Go to Spaces" button. This will open the space creation guide.

4. Create Your Space (Server)

  • Select Full Stack to start creating a server based on one of the technologies listed.

  • Choose a template that fits your needs. For example, if you've purchased a Python server, narrow your options to Python templates only.

  • Decide between starting with a blank template.

  • Or using a pre-populated template designed for specific applications, like a blog.

  • Name your space thoughtfully, or opt for our unique name generator if the specific naming isn't crucial.

  • Once your preferences are set, click Create, verify your settings, and we will establish your new domain at w3spaces.com.

  • While your space is being prepared, take some time to explore and read the README.md file provided.

Troubleshooting

  • If you encounter issues while trying to create a space, make sure you are directly navigating to Create Space.
  • If your account still appears as on the Free plan or shows ads, log out and log in again. Check the subscription status at Billing to confirm the Plus plan is active.
